Polar Bears

Mother Polar Bear with her cub

Did you know polar bear fur is not white? It isn’t. It’s actually transparent, meaning clear, and hollow. This scatters the light and gives the impression that the fur is white, in a similar fashion to what happens with snow. This is why you sometimes see polar bears with green fur, it’s because algae gets in the hollow fur and grows there.

I am a wildlife enthusiast, have been for many years now. I’ve studied nature, including her animals, plants, and everything in between since I was a child. I’d like for others to enjoy some of the many things nature has to offer and I think by showing people, in small manageable bites, they might do just that.

Enjoy, Stay Tuned, and Peace Out
